Lunch with Lenin 20%

-What is the main issue being addressed in your novel?
The main issue of the book is teens dealing with illegal drugs. This book shows that this can happen all over the world in all ages. Sometimes the only way for them to get money for their family and for themselves is to do this. (Example: selling poppy seeds, and smoking meth)

-Why did you choose this piece for your project?
I chose this piece because I always have wondered… why? Why do teens and even adults do drugs? What is the point? I wanted to read this book to be able to have a better understanding at why so many people choose this path.

-What background knowledge do you already possess on this issue?
That it doesn’t matter how old or young you are there are reasons to do the things we do. It might not be the smartest thing though. I know that kids smoke and do drugs because of pier presser and because of their family. I also know that parents will sell their kids if they need money.

-What questions do you have as you begin to read?
1.    What will happen next?
2.    Why don’t these story’s explain the ending?
3.   Story #1:
a.    Are Matthew’s parents abusive?
b.   Does Matthew always do drugs?
c.    Why is his grandma so special to him?
4.    Story #2:
a.    Will anyone find Tahmina?
b.   What will happen to Zammer?
c.    What does the mom think?

-What characters/players have been introduced so far?
There are a whole bunch of different short stories for each chapter. None of the stories that I read so far are the same people.
These are he characters in the book that have an important part (each bullet if for each book).
-       Matthew and the jock that dealt him drugs was Hammer. Matthew also has a grandma but it doesn’t say her really name.
-        At the beginning it calls the girl “she” but I think her name is Tahmina. There is also Zameer and her little brother. There is a mom and dad.
